I just wanted to send you a thank you note after our vacation last week. I am not sure if Melissa has been in touch with you to express our gratitude. Her email is messed up and she cannot send/receive email at the moment.
We had a fantastic time on the trip. The cabin offered a nice retreat for relaxation. Melissa really enjoyed the added benefit that her older sons were somewhat "trapped" at the cabin with her. Because it is off the beaten path, the boys stayed at the cabin more versus going out in town. It's difficult for her to get that much quality time with them and I think it was the highlight of her trip (probably was the highlight of her year).
In addition to the relaxing downtime at the cabin, we managed to visit a lot of the attractions, including Dollywood and Splash Country, Cade's Cove, the National Park, and the Dixie Stampede. We also went fishing and rode go-karts. It was just a great week and we really appreciate the effort you and those involved (particularly Jean and Terry Palin) put into Leslie's Week.
Thank you so much.

Melissa Burke succumbed this morning to Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, which metastasized to her brain and liver. Her Husband Chris Wrote on Facebook:
I am utterly saddened to tell you Melissa Mccathran Burke has passed away this morning, January 9th, 2016. I will have more poignant words at a later time. I acknowledge there are many people that love her deeply. And to all of you, please accept my most heartfelt condolences. Your prayers were heard and felt. And we thank you. She is with our Lord, and I am so comforted by that.
When I have specifics on her memorial service I will share it here.
